The event will be hosted by OK Mart in Hillside, Harare and is targeted at schoolteachers, headmasters, school development committee members and other stakeholders.

Operations director Masimba Madondo, said the series comprises of books 1 to 10 for Grade One and beginners as well as books 11 to 15 for Grade Two.

“CPS is geared to transforming learning in Zimbabwe by publishing quality material that responds to current teaching and learning needs,” he said.

“The CPS Rava ChiShona series has been designed to introduce ChiShona in a simple and structured manner to encourage reading and writing in ChiShona.”

Madondo described the launch as a “landmark event in Zimbabwe’s education publishing industry”.

He said in line with this year’s Zimbabwe International Book Fair (ZIBF) theme Igniting Interest in Reading for Sustainable Development, the series would go a long way in kindling interest in reading.

CPS, a co-sponsor of the Zimbabwe Schools’ Quizzes, was also set to add ChiShona and IsiNdebele segments to some of the quiz-related activities particularly on their radio programmes and at this year’s edition of ZIBF.

CPS is the exclusive distributor for Pearson, an international media company with interests in education and consumer publishing, in Zimbabwe.
