Tuku will be part of the line-up that includes, Mafikizolo, Zambian Roberto, Alexio Kawara and man of the moment Jah Prayzah at the Harare International Conference Centre on December 18 for a gig dubbed Harare Lockdown organised by Simmad Entertainment.

Speaking to NewsDay through his manager and drummer Sam Mataure yesterday, Tuku said he was looking forward to a great show.

“We still have a few more shows before the year ends, but the show on December 18 will be an exceptional affair with the fans. We are still in celebratory mood, as we commemorate Tuku’s 40 years in the music industry,” he said.

“It will be a really special show. We will be out to prove a point.”

Mataure said they were also working on the local release of their CD and DVD project titled Tuku @ 60 that is already on the market in South Africa.

“If all goes well, we will be releasing that project in the country in January,” he said.

Mataure said they would be introducing new concepts at their Pakare Paye Arts Centre in Norton in the new year.

“We have several really interesting new concepts that we will be launching at Pakare Paye Arts Centre next year that will include the golden oldies. These will be interesting productions,”he said.

Revellers had a special outing with Tuku last weekend at Pakare Paye Arts Centre where he celebrated 40 years in music.

The musician had a three pronged set that saw him perform with old members of his Black Spirits band, his current band, as well as with Ringo Madlingozi, with whom he has a duet Into yami.
