Mliswa, who is the chairman of Youth Advocacy for Reform and Democracy (Yard), told NewsDay yesterday that other dignitaries would include former war veterans’ leader Jabulani Sibanda.

‘We have invited Malema. I talked to him and he asked for a formal invitation, which we have already done,” he said.

“We have also invited Machel so that she can inspire out youths. We hope she will attend the conference.”

Malema is the leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters, which he founded in July 2013 after severing ties with the ruling African National Congress, where he was youth leader for four years.

Mliswa said Yard provincial executives will hold mini-conferences in their respective areas this month in preparation for the for the main event whose date is yet to be advised.
