THE Institute of People Management of Zimbabwe (IPMZ) Mashonaland branch hosted the human resources practitioner’s golf tournament at Chapman Golf Club recently, in an effort to bring its members together and raise funds for the implementation of its various outreach programmes.

This year’s HR practitioners’ golf tournament attracted a field of 59 players and it is envisaged that it will be held annually in different branches.
IPMZ president, Ushendibaba Madume, commended organisers and sponsors for their contribution in making the golf tournament a success.
The Corporate Hole sponsors for HR practitioner’s golf tournament were TelOne, Safeguard, Minerva, Toyota and Unkie Mine, while the corporate event sponsors were Nicoz Diamond, Murowa Diamonds, Bindura Nickel, Colcom, Marsh, Zimplats, Cimas and First Mutual.
Although the event was more focused on fairway fun, there was a healthy competition among participants, who showed off their golfing skills, attempting eagles, perfect putts and holes in ones, as well as expert escapes from the bunkers around the course.
IPMZ is a professional association of people with an interest in personnel, training and human resources and seeks to establish, promote and monitor standards of professional training, practitioner competence, good practice, code of conduct and ethics in the human resources profession.
It is also provides a professional vehicle for the promotion of interaction and exchange of knowledge and ideas among HR practitioners
