Victory for the Gamecocks will see them complete a remarkable league and cup double in a season where they also provided the Soccer Star of the Year and three Soccer Star finalists.

Chirambadare, whose 11 goals powered his side to league glory, finished the campaign slowly, last registering his name on the scoresheet on October 10 in the 2-1 win over How Mine.

However, the striker vowed to rediscover his scoring touch tomorrow, a contest he has described as his “game of the season”.

“I am definitely going to score on Sunday. It has been a very long time since I last scored. I want to make sure I score for Chicken Inn to end the season with a double. With Clemence Matawu in there, I am sure I will score. He (Matawu) has been an inspiration throughout the season,” he said.

Deservedly voted among the Soccer Star finalists, Chirambadare has fond memories of matches against Highlanders in his debut season in the top-flight.

He was one of the scorers when his side beat Bosso 2-1 in a league match in May, and has promised to once again torment Bosso and ensure his club bags the cup whose reward is an $80 000 cheque.

Chicken Inn

Chicken Inn coach Joey Antipas will be hoping that Chirambadare and his striking partners, Michelle Katsvairo and George Majika, who banged in a total of 45 goals in the league, will once again come to the party tomorrow. But, they are coming up against a side with so much to prove after what was generally a disappointing season.

The Amini Soma Phiri-coached Bosso finished the season in an unfamiliar 6th position on the log table and they know that victory in this Cup will provide some sort of consolation to their fans.

Highlanders were almost flawless in the 2-1 victory over Dynamos in the semi-final of the competition, with their talisman Knox Mutizwa awesome and Phiri would be expecting a similar performance.

Mutizwa, who won the Golden Boot award after scoring 14 goals and was voted the third best player this year, scored the clincher against Dynamos.

The goal ensured that he has scored a goal at every stage of this competition after his solitary strike decided the quarter-final contest against FC Platinum.

“I have to score again in the final. I have put myself under pressure by scoring in every cup game. I have not played against Chicken Inn this year, but I am coming for them. They must be ready for me,” said Mutizwa, who arrived back in the country on Thursday from trials in South Africa.

Bosso will, however go into the match without two of their stars in captain Erick Mudzingwa and Obadiah Tarumbwa, the latter receiving a red card against Dynamos.

In Tarumbwa’s absence, Mutizwa is likely to be partnered by Ralph Matema upfront.
