Nicole Fashions purchased the first CD for $800, while music promoter Partson “Chipaz” Chimbodza pledged to pay for all CDs given away to fans at the event.

Speaking to NewsDay, Mubariki said the pledge to the musician was in appreciation of his music talent.

“The stand is my gift to my son, as I wish to see him living a better and changed life as a result of the grace of the Lord,” he said.

“Tryson is no longer the musician people used to know, he is now a changed person because he accepted God in his life. Soon, people will start appreciating him as a role model to many musicians.”

Chimbetu said the album will prove he is “the king of Dendera” claiming he had received some of the lyrics to songs on the album, like Ndarota, from the late Simon and Naison in his dreams.

“This is a different from my previous albums and I am confident it will mark my victory. I am now doing music to surpass the bar that was set by the deceased Simon and Naison, whom I sometimes communicate with through dreams, getting special guidance in my music career,” he said.

The eight-track album Victory (Ballon D’or), his fifth studio project, was recorded at Diamond Studios and features songs like Chihera Vhura Door, Ndarota, Isa Moto, Joyce, Ndirikutsvagawo Basa, KaNumber Kanyowani and Ndoendepiko.

The colourful launch was well attended, with fellow musicians among them Romeo Gasa, Peter Moyo, Allan and Douglas Chimbetu.

The 27-year-old Dendera crooner has gradually risen to become a force to reckon with in the cut-throat music industry, with his music being received well by fans both locally and regionally. This has seen him frequently performing at Transvaal Hotel in Boksburg, South Africa.

He has previously collaborated with superstar Oliver Mtukudzi on Pahotera and Peter Moyo on Bhora Mberi.
