The Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services athlete Pangiso won the senior men’s race in 30:36:40, while South Africa-based Nyahora clocked a time of 34:54:23 on her way to winning the senior women’s race.

Pangiso recently won the Gutu Half Marathon on November 8, while Nyahora was victorious in the Old Mutual Soweto Marathon 10km race at the beginning of the month.

Tendai Zimuto came second in the senior men’s race in 30:50:06, while Wellington Varevi was third on 31:07:88.

In the senior women’s race Constance Nyasango finished second on 36:48:02 and Yvette Makamure came in third with a time of 42:50:58.

FUN RACE

The junior men’s race was won by Mqondisi Moyo in 32:04:87 while Raviro Magano came first in the junior women’ race after registering 37:36:53 on the clock.

In the wheelchair section Elford Moyo won the men’s race in 28:55:96 and relegated Samson Muroyiwa who clocked 30:13:83 to second spot.

Molene Muza was victorious in the women’s race with a time of 52:26:87 with Irene Moyo finishing second on 54:00:00.

The winners of the senior men and women’s races pocketed $500 each, runners-up $300 and third placed athletes $200.

Winners in the junior men and women’s races each got $150 with the runners up getting $100 and third placed $50.

Winners in the wheelchair categories received $200 each with the second-placed athletes getting $150 each.

A total of 150 athletes took part in the Liqour Hub 10km Fun race which is bankrolled by prominent Bulawayo businessman Raj Modi. After the race, Modi’s company Pintail Trading donated $5 000 to Mustard Seed Children’s Home.
