This came to light when Dheya, 21, appeared before Mbare magistrate Kudzai Zihove, facing theft allegations and was remanded out of custody to next Thursday for trial.

Allegations against Dheya were that on Wednesday, she met Tapota in Kuwadzana and invited him to her house to sleep over and he agreed.

The State alleges when they got to Dheya’s place , Tapota hid his money in his shoes and put them under the bed before the duo retired to bed.

At around 5am, it is alleged, Tapota woke up and realised that the shoes had been moved from where he left them and upon finding them he discovered that his money was gone

Tapota is said to have confronted Dheya and quizzed her over the disappearance of his cash and the moving of his shoes since they were together the whole night, but Dheya denied ever seeing the money or moving the shoes.

Rutendo Nyahondo appeared for the State.
