It’s judge’s nephew, not son

A 23-YEAR-OLD Harare man, Blessing Ndewere, who appeared at the Mbare Magistrates’ Court charged with assaulting his father, Ereck Ndewere, and fracturing his leg after being chastised for coming home late, is in fact High Court judge Justice Erica Ndewere’s nephew and not her son, NewsDay has confirmed.

A 23-YEAR-OLD Harare man, Blessing Ndewere, who appeared at the Mbare Magistrates’ Court charged with assaulting his father, Ereck Ndewere, and fracturing his leg after being chastised for coming home late, is in fact High Court judge Justice Erica Ndewere’s nephew and not her son, NewsDay has confirmed.

The complainant in the matter, Ereck, is Justice Ndewere’s brother.

Ereck, according to the family, is recuperating at the judge’s residence from the injuries he sustained during the fracas.

Blessing will face a more serious charge of attempted murder after the prosecution applied to have his matter referred to the Prosecutor-General’s Office for consideration.
