In the last five matches of the league, Kariba has produced the best results, dropping two points while, Chicken Inn have not been bad either, setting up a potentially explosive quarter-final.
GameCocks coach, Joey Antipas said he is hopeful of pulling through to the semi-finals.
“We are playing in Kariba, it is going to be difficult as temperatures are soaring.
“Three games in a space of a week means we will definitely have to rotate our players. Of course, we want to win every game we play. ZPC Kariba are also on a fine pedal, but we hope to pull through,” he said.
The log-leaders were dumped out of the Chibuku Super Cup, when they lost 5-3 in a penalty shoot-out in the quarter-finals at the National Sports Stadium, in a match that had ended 1-1 in regulation time in September.

Sunday Chidzambwa, whose side was hammered 4-1 in the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals by Harare City at Mandava Stadium last month, said cup ties are difficult, but he is happy that after a long time, he has a fully-assembled squad with no injuries.
“Cup games are difficult to predict, but we are prepared for the game with no injuries in camp. Hot as it might be, Chicken Inn might feel the heat more, but we will feel it too,” he said.
The former Warriors gaffer took over at ZPC Kariba in mid-season, after a long time in the wilderness and started on a low note, but seems to have struck the right chord with the power utility side, who at one time were candidates for relegation.
