Magistrate Tendai Mahwe remanded Tafadzwa Chitaunhika (32) in custody to December 7 after the State led by Sebastian Mutizirwa, successfully opposed bail.

Mutizirwa told the court that on November 17 this year, the complainant, a mental patient, visited the toilet and started cleaning the toilet seat.

Chitaunhika approached her and allegedly touched her breasts and said he loved her.

The State further alleged that the woman tried to resist, but Chitaunhika then kicked her and she fell backwards.

He is alleged to have pulled down her trousers and underwear to knee level and inserted his fingers into her private parts before inserting his manhood.

The State alleged that he then withdrew his manhood and inserted it into her mouth and afterwards had sexual intercourse with her without her consent. After the act, the woman reported the matter to the sister on duty, who then made a report to the police.

Upon his arrest, the accused was reportedly also found in possession of a stolen radio.
