The team comprises of Chiefs’ Council president Fortune Charumbira, who is part of the African Union observer mission, Harare South MP Shadreck Mashayamombe (Zanu PF), Zaka East MP Samson Mukanduri (Zanu PF) and Harare Central MP Murisi Zvizwai (MDC-T).
The delegation yesterday described the process as orderly and peaceful except for minor skirmishes at the beginning of the announcement of partial results.
The presidential race is pitting John Magufuli of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi party against former Prime Minister Edward Lowassa, a Chama Cha Mapinduzi stalwart, who crossed the floor and is now heading a coalition of opposition parties, Chadema.
The incumbent Jakaya Kikwete opted out of the race.
