TOTAL Football Academy has embarked on an ambitious talent identification programme that will see them giving a chance to as many aspiring football players across the country to showcase their talent.

Founded in Warren Park, Harare, in 2011, the academy has contributed significantly to the growth of local football.

A number of Premiership clubs, including Harare giants Dynamos, have pounced on some players that would have come through Total Football.

DeMbare snatched striker Thomas Kadyaridzire from the academy at the beginning of this year.

Kadyaridzire made a name for himself when he represented the country at the Regional Games that were held in Bulawayo where he scored a handful goals with the Zimbabwe Under-20 team losing to Zambia in the finals.

The academy has been for the last few years, making use of Warren Park Stadium, but plans to relocate to the giant National Sports Stadium’s C Arena are at an advance stage. The academy has Under-14, U15 and U17 teams which play in the Harare Junior League as well as the Under-20 team which is in Division Three.

This weekend, the academy will host a training clinic for kids from the age of eight up to 20 at the National Sports Stadium.

The coaching staff will be led by Total Football Academy technical director Patrick Mubako, technical advisor Gilbert Mushangazhike, Keith Mandishona, Justin Kabetha and Ernest Rappozzo.
