The three, who will be flying the country’s flag high, are regarded as strong brands, according to Hunnar Management Agency, who are hosting the show in partnership with South Africa’s Azzura.

Mubochwa, who has showcased his designs at the Zimbabwe Fashion Week and Soweto Fashion Week, was a guest designer at last year’s Intwasa Fashion Show.

“This year his garments were used on the models that were part of the Intwasa Fashion Show campaign and this led to him being spotted by the organisers of Ekurhuleni,” Hunnar Management Agency said in a statement.

Mubochwa’s garments have been worn by the cast of the leading South African soap opera, Generations.

The Durban-based designer and winner of the Vodacom Durban Award will be showcasing an elegant collection at the Ekurhuleni Fashion Festival alongside Thobekile Zondo and Gift Tsingano who have been mentored by Nkululeko Ncube who is the head designer at Ara Kani.

“They recently debuted their collections from their mentorship programme at the Intwasa Fashion Show and were one of the favourite collections of the night. The Heralds by Ara Kani will be showcasing their Spring/Summer Collection 2016 in South Africa,” said the agency.

Ekurhuleni Fashion Festival is a signature yearly event showcasing the most prestigious homegrown fashion brands.

Munenge, who was also at the Zimbabwe Fashion Week and Soweto Fashion Week and appeared at last year’s Intwasa Fashion Show as a guest designer, will also be showcasing his designs.
