Mafriq Music Factory (MMF) official Noble Kanengoni, popularly known as Brown Sugar, said the album launch followed the successful hosting of the Muringa Festival in August.

The album, Muringa Music Season One, was produced by Mafriq Music Factory.

The album is a fusion of African rhythmic percussions and other international genres like hip hop, reggae, house and dancehall.

The 14-track album contains the song Unouya Wega by Discord, Sebede and Ama, which underscores that talent comes from God.

The track Deejays and Newsreaders, featuring Brown Sugar and Discord, celebrates the privileges of being in a relationship with a celebrity.

Hip-hop songs like Mira by Herb Danger and Makuseni featuring Roki remind listeners that nobody does it like us, thereby emphasising that he plays the drum exceptionally.

On the reggae feel are songs like Ngetani by Fire Starter and Mapepa by Mannex Motsi, while Brown Sugar and Smylie come in with Pfumbu Pfumbu, a song that celebrates Muringa music.

The song Dadi is a love tale celebrating Zimbabwean beauty.

It features Ras Caleb of Tokwe Mukosi fame whose profound lyrics add flavour to the laid-back reggae beat with a thumping baseline.

Production of the album was done at Mafriq Music Factory by Toto Zviro Beats and Cuba.

Mafriq Music Factory manager Cosmas Zamangwe expressed hope that the album would be accepted by fans.

“This is the first album to be released by the MMF stable and I hope it will serve as inspiration which will see Zimbabwe’s Muringa music being internationally accepted,” he said.
