The suspect, Obert Marera, pleaded not guilty to the allegations when he appeared before magistrate Reward Kwenda.

He was remanded out of custody to today for trial.

Allegations against him are that on October 3 this year at around midday, he urinated in front of Yanana Dandanika’s fruit and vegetable stall at a place commonly known as “Mbudzi Roundabout”.

It is alleged when Dandanika confronted and reprimanded Marera for his actions, he became hostile and started insulting her. He then clapped Dandanika on her left cheek and also fondled her breasts before taking to his heels.

After the incident, Dandanika proceeded to make a police report, leading to Marera’s arrest.

Tendai Matsikenyere appeared for the State.
