Killer T distanced himself from the deceased, known as Mimi, describing her as “a fan” and an avid follower of his music.

“She was a fan whom I knew and she followed our music closely and sometimes she would come to see us recording at the studio,” he said.

The girl’s associates, who spoke to NewsDay, however, said the deceased was more than a fan, as the two were an item.

“Mimi was in Mbare on the day she died and told us she was going out with her fiancé, Killer T and we are shocked that they are now describing her as a fan, yet many in showbiz know they were dating,” one of her friends said.

Information filtering in from social media networks, including WhatsApp, shows that on the fateful day, Mimi was in the company of the popular Mbare-bred musician.

A series of messages revealing that Killer T and Kambanga were in a relationship have also gone viral on social media networks.

Killer T’s manager, DJ Bima described the news as an “exaggeration”.

“People are trying to exaggerate things; we have nothing to say about that issue, let them say what they want, it is something that will come to pass,” he said.

Reports suggested that Killer T, who was driving a Toyota Altezza, was drag-racing with Mimi, who was driving a Toyota Chaser, which she lost control of, resulting in her hitting an electric pylon.

The car was swallowed up in flames, resulting in her death.

Killer T phoned the police informing them of the fatal accident and later took the deceased girl to hospital.
