CURTAINS will come down tonight as the DreamStar Zimbabwe Talent Show grand finale featuring 16 finalists at 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare.

BY ARTS REPORTER Conceived by the Chinese Federation of Zimbabwe (CFZ) in partnership with ZLG, the show is designed to unearth raw talent at the grassroots level.

After the auditions conducted throughout the country’s 10 provinces, tonight three lucky ones will walk away with monetary and material prizes.

The ultimate winner will pocket $5 000 while the second prize and third prizes are pegged at $3 000 and $1 000 respectively, with the top 10 finalists receiving $500 each.

Dream Star Zimbabwe spokesperson Rumbidzai Matinanga said the stage was set for the potentially explosive event to be held under the theme Dream Higher, Fight Harder.

“All is set for the Dream-Star Zimbabwe Talent Show grand finale tomorrow (today) with all the participants raring to go,” Matinanga said.

“This year’s competition was stiff. We conducted auditions throughout the country’s 10 provinces with the lucky ones making it into the finals.”

Dance group M’n’M Dance Factory, Chinhoyi-based singer Maxwell Chiungwe, Dzivarasekwa dance group Real Flex, rapper David

“Flexxo” Mutanda from Mutare, Mabvuku a capella outfit Soul Finders, RnB singer Rutendo Mangwenzi, Sesfikile Dance Crew, Teysean,Rhythm Kings, The Southern Djembenatives, Mncedisi Believe MJ Ncube from Bulawayo, Soul Feeling Music Snipers Crew from Bulawayo, Nyasha “Soul Child” David and Gracious Maworera make up the finalists.

The grand finale show promises to be a thriller as renowned musicians among Trevor Dongo, Extra Large, Madiz, XQ and Ketannagar are billed to perform as guest artistes.
