Highlanders chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede told journalists during the club’s weekly Press conference that they had been given the green light to use the Nyaradzo bus by their principal sponsor, BancABC.

“Our sponsors BancABC have decided to relax some of the clauses in our agreement to allow us to get into an agreement with Nyaradzo, while we are still under their sponsorship. All the paperwork has been done and we are expecting the bus within two weeks,” he said.

The veteran administrator said they had ceded all rights to BancABC when accepting the financial institution’s sponsorship package.

“So whatever comes must not infringe on our agreement with them (BancABC). People may ask why we had not been accepting the bus all along, but the answer is very simple: we had to first of all negotiate with our sponsor and agree,” he said.

Highlanders sent the Nyaradzo agreement document to BancABC and the bank was not happy with some of the clauses.

“Through our consultations with them and negotiations, they managed to relax some things to give us a chance to get the Nyaradzo bus,” Gumede said.

The Nyaradzo bus also comes with conditions that Highlanders must have at least 300 new members from their supporters that join the Nyaradzo funeral policy per month for the next five years.
