Border Strikers just a point away

BORDER STRIKERS moved to within one point of topflight football next season with a 2-1 win over Gweru United on Saturday.

The Beitbridge side opened a 12 point lead between themselves and Tongogara and ZPC Munyati.

A single point for the leaders in the remaining four matches will ensure promotion; they can also be promoted if Tongogara and ZPC Munyati drop points along the way.

Shabanie Mine’s quest for an immediate premiership return was extinguished following their 0-0 draw at home to Blanket Mine.

Last season‘s league runners-up MSU paid the price for a false start and they will have to compete in the second tier league again next term after they were held to a 1-1 draw by FC Platinum U19.
