INDIGENISATION and Youth minister Patrick Zhuwao has warned senior party Zanu PF officials against using youths as “dogs of war” in the ruling party’s endless factional fights.

Addressing a Zanu PF youth consultative meeting in Mutare on Saturday, Zhuwao vowed to expose party stalwarts unleashing youths as pawns to fight their rivals.
“I’m saying to senior politicians, please don’t send these youths, and if you are not sending them rebuke them… But if it continues to recur as you order the youths to maintain your profile picture on their phones, then be warned,” he said.
Zhuwao’s comments come as Gokwe-Nembudziya legislator Justice Mayor Wadyajena is demanding a whopping $150 000 in defamation damages from Phillip Chiyangwa for uploading on social media a video clip produced by Zanu PF youth leaders Ace Lumumba and Mubuso Chinguno accusing the MP of being a “homosexual”.
The video was reportedly recorded recently at First Lady Grace Mugabe’s Chimanimani rally and distributed by Chiyangwa.
Of late, Wadyajena has been on the firing line from some fellow party members following his move to drag former Indigenisation minister Saviour Kasukuwere to Parliament to account for Community Share Ownership Trust funds set up during his tenure.

Zhuwao added: “As a minister I would like to apologise on their behalf. I urge party youths to bring any grievances you might have with them to me. Forgive their past mistakes, but even as I acknowledge their faults.”
