MDC-T Harare provincial chair, Erick Murayi who is the MP for the area, said violence broke out after some “rogue party youths” attempted to disrupt the rally.

“It’s not a serious issue to be honest; all I can tell you is that people are now exaggerating things. Yes, there were skirmishes at the rally because of some youths who were making noise, I tried to calm them but they could not obey me. It’s not something big to be honest,” Murayi said.

“I know that people are creating stories that I hit someone but it’s not true. I did not do so, it’s just some youths who were pushing each other.”

Some of the injured youths were reportedly taken to a private hospital in Harare.
