Local designers will get an opportunity to showcase their unique talents and local traits on November 7.

The organisers, represented by Donovan Faranando of Encore Productions, have decided to take the glamorous event to the streets in a bid to show originality.

“The designers are expected to bring us into their world. Often designers get lost in trends and forget to express themselves as they should,” Faranando said.

“So this fashion show is supposed to give them an opportunity to show us their definition of ‘real fashion’.”

The event will provide designers a platform to showcase the art in the fashion industry and boost the designer’s confidence before coming out into the open with their designs.

“Our designers showcasing this year are mostly students, either graduating soon or later. They are all talented and creative,” Faranando said.

He said it was difficult to break out in the fashion industry so the fashion show was meant to help upcoming designers with a platform to showcase their skills.

Designers showcasing on this day include Maison De Rouge, Blissy Designs, Eclectique Couture, Maricko Nation, Muza Couture, Cici Fashions, Afro Kreations, Trendy A&C and Carol Wutawunashe.
