City were last week held to a goalless draw by Black Boots away from home in Fairbridge and if they beat Trumus in Victoria Falls in their next assignment, it will be done and dusted with their last two matches against Makomo and Indlovu Iyanyathela only a formality.

The Philani “Beefy” Ncube-coached local authority side is now on 62 points with second-placed Bulawayo Chiefs on 55 points after beating Indlovu Iyanyathela 2-0 in Fairbridge on Saturday.

If Chiefs win all their last matches against Nust, Hwange Juniors and Casmyn, they will end the season on 64 points with City already two points away from reaching that feat.

Third-placed ZPC Hwange are on 49 points.

Ntabazinduna Prison are in trouble with the referees and they lost three points to Trumus at home as the match officials have vowed not to take charge of their home matches unless they pay arrears amounting to $1 300.

Trumus were awarded three points on a 3-0 scoreline.

League fixtures secretary Jabulani Chinyangarara confirmed the development.

“Ntabazinduna owe referees $1 300 and unless they come up with a payment plan, they will not be officiating in their home matches,” Chinyangarara said.

In other matches played on Saturday, Technosphere beat Black Boots 1-0 while Nust also edged Mpumalanga 1-0.
