FORMER Premiership side Masvingo United made strong statement of intent in their aspirations of returning to the top-flight league with 7-0 win over FC Three Leaves in the Eastern Region Division One Football League match played at Mucheke Stadium on Saturday.

Hartley have 49 points from 23 points, while Masvingo are on 45 points from the same number of matches.

Mutare City Rovers faltered at home after they were held to a goalless draw by Prime Rangers. Rovers moved one place down the ladder and are now third, with 44 points from 23 matches. Masvingo United team manager, Phillip Shumba said good old days had returned to the football community of Masvingo.

“I think everyone is positive, from our fans and stakeholders that we are going to clinch the title. Fans are coming in their numbers, they are going to play a crucial role in our quest for Premiership promotion, we are aware that is not going to be easy, but we will push harder,” he said.
