Katsande was blessed with a bouncing 3,1 kg baby boy at Mbuya Nehanda Maternity Home at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals on Tuesday morning.

The renowned actress is customarily married to Virimai Chigariro, who paid lobola for her at a private ceremony in July this year.

An ecstatic Katsande yesterday took to social network Facebook publicise the arrival of her son, Yambuko Nokutendaishe Chigariro, saying he was delivered earlier than expected.

“At 5:03am yesterday (Tuesday) morning I officially entered the next remarkable stage in my life’s journey of motherhood. With my husband Virimai and friend Belinda urging me on through the seven hours of labour as my birthing partners, baby boy Yambuko Nokutendaishe Chigariro entered our lives at a bouncing tall handsome 3,1kg,” she wrote.

“Today I witnessed perfection. Pure and untainted, undiluted and no preservatives. Just the work of God in all His glory, today I held my miracle. God is so real in my life. I will praise Him all the days of my life.”

While Katsande was not answering her mobile phone, a close source privy to the family said they expected October 11 as Tin Tin’s possible delivery date.

“Many of us had October 11 marked on the calendar as the possible date for Tin Tin to deliver and as part of preparations some friends and relatives had organised a baby shower ceremony for this Saturday,” she said.

“Since the baby has arrived earlier than expected, we are still going to host the function, but it will now be a baby welcome ceremony.”

Social networks Facebook and Twitter were yesterday awash with congratulatory messages for Tin Tin.

Patience Nyamukondiwa Fiskerstrand wrote: “Congratulations welcome to the world little one.” “Congratulations Tin Tin, welcome to motherhood! There is nothing like it trust me,” Mutsawamwari Benhura Mpamhanga wrote.

Alexio Kazingizi congratulated her, writing: “Enjoy your motherhood.”

In a recent interview with NewsDay, Katsande said she was happy to have finally settled down in marriage thanking God for answering her prayers.

“I am now happily married. God answered my prayers, I am a living testimony and I have a story to tell. I will still let my light shine and share my journey one day in a bid to inspire others in their life journey.” she said.
