Wonder Emmanuel Zuze (33) of 17705 Unit M Seke pleaded guilty to assault charges, but denied allegations of stabbing his tenant Joseph Magwaro.
Zuze told the court that he headbutted Magwaro while they were fighting.
“He sustained a deep cut when I headbutted him while we were fighting in my room while I was drunk,” said Zuze.
Prosecutor Innocent Tizirai told presiding magistrate Tafadzwa Miti that on September 6 this year, Zuze stabbed Magwaro with an Okapi knife for failing to pay rent, whose amount was not disclosed in court.
Magwaro allegedly sustained facial injuries and sought treatment at Chitungwiza Central Hospital.
Zuze was granted $50 bail and remanded to next Monday for sentence.
