BUHERA South MP Joseph Chinotimba on Tuesday praised President Robert Mugabe, describing him as “God-given” and his speech as impressive despite the glaring fact that the veteran leader had read a wrong speech in Parliament.

A fired-up Chinotimba said Mugabe’s speech was “fantastic” and urged Zimbabweans to emulate the 91-year-old leader.

“I hope all the opposition parties now realise that we have a leader. If a person speaks against corruption and that we have to take agriculture seriously and that the labour laws should be changed and do away with the laws of the (settler) regime, what more do you want?” Chinotimba said.

“He is a God-given President. What he said touched me and on behalf of my people in Buhera South, that is what we call leadership, not People First or any other party that Jabu (Jabulani Sibanda) speaks of. This is excellent.”

Buhera North MP William Mutomba on Tuesday also rose to move a motion to debate the wrong Presidential address.

Zanu PF MPs also kept clapping while Mugabe wrongly read the State of the Nation Address he delivered three weeks ago instead of another speech prepared for the official opening of the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament.
