The delegation will visit the two countries from October 19 to 23.

Afrika-Verein head of countries and markets Judith Helfmann-Hundack said the business delegation was open to companies across all sectors and was designed as a market research trip.

She said the main objective of the visit is to see the market potential of Zimbabwe and Zambia, meet future business partners and representatives, establish networks and establish further business activities in the local and regional markets.

“To ensure a maximum of fruitful business meetings for the participating companies, the German-African Business Association is working closely with local partners and business associations in both countries. In addition to the general programme, we will be happy to arrange individual meetings from your sector of interest,” Helfmann-Hundack said.

She said the programme includes presentations from the embassies of the Federal Republic Germany in Harare and Lusaka, meetings with high-ranking government officials from Zimbabwe and Zambia as well as various business stakeholders from both countries.

Afrika-Verein is the foreign trade association representing German companies and institutions with an interest in Africa. Through its well-established networks, the association promotes exchange between German and African representatives from both business and politics. In doing so, the association advocates a new conception of Africa in Germany: Africa as a continent of opportunity.

Zimbabwe has in the past months witnessed renewed attention from international delegations interested in doing business in the country.

The German business delegation comes after Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote visited Zimbabwe early this month to seal several business deals

It also comes after two United Kingdom trade missions visited Zimbabwe in 2014 and early this year. The country has received various investors from France, China, Russia and Turkey looking for investment opportunities.
