The Glen Norah-bred rapper on Monday conceded that his love life was insecure and, for that reason, he had decided to keep it away from the media’s limelight and now preferred to keep that chapter of his life closely guarded.

Pouring his heart out in a wide-ranging interview, Stunner said he has decided to keep his current lover — a top model — away from the “lights” and “camera action”.

He jokingly acknowledged that exposing his lover to the limelight puts him at a risk of losing her to West African men, a harrowing experience he had to endure when he lost Pokello to Elikem Kurmodzi, a tailor from Ghana.

“If I show you my lover, she will be snatched away from me by men from those other countries,” a subtle dig at Pokello.

Stunner revealed that he had been in a healthy relationship with his current lover for the past three years and had no regrets of the past.

“I’m happy with my lover. Yes, I mean the one you know, I have been with her for the past three years,” he said.

Their relationship was at one time rumoured to be on the rocks when the model migrated to Ukraine, but Stunner poured cold water on the speculative reports and declared they were still together.

Stunner also took a swipe at fellow local rappers who sing about flamboyant lives that are out of touch with reality.

“I have a problem with rappers who sing about wishful thinking and stuff that is not real. I sing about being happy. I don’t sing about poverty because sometimes if you curse yourself, it will stick with you,” he said.

“I sing about real hustles. Let’s say I hustle a dollar, I celebrate that and, say I hustle $5, I celebrate that as well. I sing happy music and I am satisfied.”

Stunner is tipped to be one of the winners at the annual Zim Hip Hop Awards to be held later this year.
