Paul Mhande was convicted and sentenced on his own plea of guilty to assaulting a police officer in Glen Norah on Monday this week.
Mbare magistrate, Bianca Makwande ordered him to perform 105 hours of community service at Glen Norah Satellite clinic.
The court heard that on the day in question, Mhande had an altercation with his wife at their Glen Norah home, and the commotion attracted the attention of the police officer, Joseph Shava.
According to the evidence presented in court, Shava is a neighbour of the couple.
The court heard Shava proceeded to the couple’s home and tried to restrain them from fighting, but Mhande resisted and started assaulting him with open hands. Shava then made a police report, leading to Mhande’s arrest.
