FOUR people died on the spot while several others were injured this morning when a commuter omnibus they were travelling in rammed into an oncoming haulage truck at the 68 km peg along the Harare-Mutare Highway.

Information on what led to the fatal accident is still sketchy but witnesses said the driver of the Isuzu KB had stopped to give way to stray cattle in the highway before a speeding commuter omnibus hit from behind, lost control and encroached into the lane of an oncoming haulage truck.
The driver of the commuter omnibus died on the spot while the injured were rushed to Marondera provincial hospital.
Police are still to confirm the accident as some of their details are on site and caring out investigations.
