RADES — Egypt yesterday advanced to the AfroBasket 2015 Quarter-Finals following a comprehensive 102-62 victory over Zimbabwe in the opening game of the Round of 16 in Rades, Tunisia.

Point guard Ehab Amin, who had a game-high 18 points, led five Egypt players who scored in double digits.

Vitalis Chikoko was the only Zimbabwean to score above 10 points, as he contributed a team-high 17 points.

As a result of the win, Egypt became the first team to score over 100 points in the tournament. It was also the biggest winning margin in the event.

Egypt led all but 27 seconds of the contest, and outplayed the tournament debutant at all aspects of the game. — online
