SOUTH AFRICA-BASED gospel musician Mkhululi Bhebhe of Joyous Celebration choir has said there is abundant gospel talent in Bulawayo which needs to be taped into.

Bhebhe was in the city for the Word of Life International Ministries Silver jubilee celebrations.

More than five gospel artistes and groups, including Ghanaian musician Mercy Njoki, hip-hop artiste Real Astar, Bulawayo-born Afro-jazz musician Dudu Manhenga, Pastor G (Stanley Gwanzura) and Zim Praise graced the celebrations.

Close to 5 000 music fans thronged the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair arena and the praise concert was streamed live on various social media platforms.

Bhebhe said he was honoured to be invited to the Silver Jubilee celebrations.

“I would like to congratulate Apostles Goodwill and Maureen Shana and the entire Word of Life family on achieving 25 years of ministry,” he said.

“There is so much talent in Bulawayo and all this has been revealed to me throughout the whole conference. It is a joy to be part of these celebrations and to see the hand of the Lord upon this ministry.”

Bhebhe disclosed that he was fully booked for the rest of the year. He took to the stage setting off with Hakuna Zvinorema.
He performed several of Joyous Celebration renditions which were complimented with complex dance routines.

As ZimPraise choir came on, crowds moved closer to the stage. Fever pitch was reached with songs like Only You Be God and several others in different languages.

The outfit wowed the crowd with sungura dance moves.
Later, Pastor G backed by ZimPraise, performed songs such as Tshibilika and Zvishamiso among others.

The event ended with a collaboration by all the artistes.
