First to take to the stage was youthful gospel musician Temba “Tembalami” Tagwirei who did not disappoint as he kept gospel lovers on their feet. When Pastor G took over, the crowd erupted into ecstatic joy and sang along with him as he belted out his popular songs.

Deuschle then turned the atmosphere into worshipmood with everyone singing along to her music, lifting up their hands as she sang the song Worth My Lord from her new album which made all rose to their feet to worship.

Speaking on the side-lines of the concert, Pastor G, who first met Deuschle in 1998, said: “Bonnie is an inspiration to me. She has shown that gospel music is not a joke, but a calling from God. She is a worshiper whom I value much.”

Musician Janet Manyowa, who was groomed by Deuschle, said the latter was like a mother to her.

“She is a mother to me and she taught me to become who I am today. I was in her choir for long and I tell you she is sent to teach people that there is God,” she said.

The concert ended on a high note with thousands still wanting more, and then Bonnie took time to sign autobiography on the CDs which people jostled to buy at the end of the show.

Deuschle told NewsDay that her wish was to see people in Zimbabwe seeking God to create a better nation.
