“Over the 35 years of existence, of the relationship a lot has been done. The areas enacted as important include justice, industry, tourism, among others, have been helping us improve our shared common history,” said Nyusi, who delivered his speech in Portuguese with the an aid of an interpreter.

Nyusi said his invitation by the Zimbabwean government to officially open this year’s show confirmed the bilateral relations between the two countries which date back to the days of the liberation struggle. He said Africa must unite and utilise its natural resources to find solutions to the problems bedeviling the continent.

The Mozambican leader said his country was ready to accommodate willing Zimbabwe entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector as his country had vast tracts of idle land.

Nyusi was accompanied by his Foreign Affairs minister Oldermiro Julio Baloi, Chief of Military House, Commodore Joaquim Mangrasse and Mozambique’s ambassador to Zimbabwe, Pedro de Azevedo Davane.

Zimbabwe Agricultural Show president Robbie Mupawose said despite the country’s economic crisis, this year’s show had improved in terms of the quality of exhibition and was set to benefit a number of small-scale farmers through various informative lectures that are being conducted by the society.
