THE video shoot for pole dancer Norleen Sifelani’s forthcoming debut single titled Muzvambarara began on Tuesday at Sherwood golf Club in Harare amid high expectations that the recording will impress fans.

BY ALOIS VINGA Popularly known as Zoey in the pole dancing circles, Zoey told NewsDay recently that her fans should expect “fireworks” in the video.

“The video will accompany my song Muzvambarara weShamhu which is set to be released anytime after the Muringa Festival which will be held in September. This time I am not only into dancing. I have glued the dancing to music,” she said.

The song Muzvambarara weShamhu tells a story of a father who beats up his daughter every day for attending live band shows while not seeing the potential in her as an artist. It then advises parents to see the potential in their children before attaching negative labels to what interests them.

Zoey said it was unfortunate that many people associated dancing with loose morals when it was a profession that has been widely accepted on the international entertainment circuit.

“This song reflects originality as inspired by our Zimbabwean culture. It is a fusion of Jerusarema, Mbakumba, Hip Hop and Afro Pop, which will give a distinct quality of Zimbabwe’s contemporary music. It is an evolution in the music industry which marks the beginning of unique creativity,” she said.

The video is being recorded by the Tambisa Zvako hitmaker, popularly known as Mr Elders in the entertainment circles, and features artistes like Deejay Dischord, Brown Sugar and Mr Muffin.

“Fans who wish to get a feel of the music can come to the Pariah State this weekend for a listening session where Ras Nhombos, Brown Sugar, DJ Mary Dee Nosh and Taf Miles will be featured,” said DJ Dischord.
