Speaking at the handover ceremony in Harare yesterday, Stanbic chief executive officer Joshua Tapambgwa said the bank was committed to helping underprivileged members of the community.

“This donation shows that we buy into ALCOZ’s mission which seeks to improve the welfare of people living with albinism through reduction of stigma and discrimination, provision of basic needs and capacity-building them for sustainable livelihood,” Tapambgwa said.

The donation included anti-septic liquid, soap, lip balm (for high sun protection), and sun screen lotion for both adults and children.

Tapambgwa said Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe appreciated ALCOZ’s vision of a stigma-free and self-reliant albino society which offers capacity building and psychosocial support which includes counselling to the affected people living with albinism.

Last year, Stanbic Zimbabwe donated $2 500 to the Zimbabwe Albino Association which went towards high school fees for its disadvantaged members.
