Nhivi, who has struggled for game time since his return from injury, had put forward a transfer request to join the Green Machine in the just-ended July transfer window.

The transfer window closed on Friday which follows that Nhivi, who has also played for Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa, will have to wait until the next season.

He has six months left on his contract with Dynamos and having made it clear he wanted out of the Dynamos family, it will be interesting to see whether the Glamour Boys will give him game time.

He stopped training with the club once the transfer request was accepted.

Contacted for comment, Dynamos secretary Webster Chikengezha said there were some fees to be paid first as Nhivi was contracted to Dynamos until the end of the season.

“But the president (Keni Mubaiwa) is dealing with the issue,” Chikengezha said.

Mubaiwa confirmed they had accepted the player’s transfer request, but said all they were waiting for was their money.

“We have accepted his transfer request to join Caps United and all we were waiting for was the transfer fee from the club. We had agreed on everything,” Mubaiwa said without disclosing the figures.

The former Shooting Stars striker played for Caps United in 2010 where he attracted the attention of South African clubs after scoring an incredible 10 goals in 10 starts.

He was snapped up by Mamelodi Sundowns, but he did not enjoy his football at the Brazilians as he endured a frustrating one-year stint battling for game time.

He then opted for the termination of his contract after which he returned home in 2012.

Interestingly, he decided to join Dynamos in a bid to revive his career.

However, a recurring injury appears to be affecting his career.
