FLAMBOYANT urban groover Stunner and gospel hip-hop star Mudiwa seem to have buried the hatchet after a lengthy spells of dissing each other.

The two were on Saturday night spotted having drinks together in the company of one of Harare’s top socialites Joseph Tazviona Mhaka, best known as Chief Jay, during Beefy (Aldrian Harrison)’s birthday celebration at Pariah State cocktail bar in Borrowdale.

Stunner confirmed having drinks with Mudiwa, but denied he ever had differences with him. He said: “I do not have problems with him.”

But since last month the two hip-hop musicians were involved in a social media war over fashion with each claiming to outclass the other.

The fashion war soon turned into a musical battle, with the two composing songs to allegedly get at each other.

Mudiwa accused Stunner of stealing his song and the later by composing a song that denigrated the former.

Last month, the two rappers released songs recorded on the same beat with the chorus, Vegodo vandikonewa (Those jealous of me cannot stand me) by Mudiwa while Stunner chanted Vandikonewa (they have failed to bring me down).

Although the two had an agreement to do the recording, Mudiwa then came out blaming Stunner for stealing his song, an accusation Stunner denied. He has since posted a challenge to record another song if Mudiwa insisted the song was stolen from him.

Stunner took to his official Facebook page and posted: “In case you were confused on what is going on with the song Vandikonewa, you know artist Stunner, when it comes to music hatiudzirwe (no one tells me what to do). From writing big songs like Rudo Rwemari, Dhafukorera, Team Hombe, Hameno, Panofa Munhu, Chibhodhoro, Painkiller, Godo and Tazoita Cash does not need to steal a song from Mudiwa. (But we can let you use our style and sing gospel).”

Mudiwa also took to Facebook to justify the “diss” song which many have criticised as being out of character with a gospel artiste.

“This is for my Number 1 fan and of course to correct a few things.

“Stunner you pushed me to get into the race with you when you knew I did not want,” read part of Mudiwa’s Facebook post.
