ZISEGU said many security companies were in serious breach of labour laws as they would go for months without paying their workers timely.

The union gave several companies a four-week ultimatum to settle the arrears failure of which it would approach ISO to withdraw its certificates. The ISO certificate is the one that is normally used by security companies in searching for contracts as it proves competence.

“We have been receiving numerous complaints from employees, our members, pertaining non-payment of wages and cash in lieu of leave and/or allowing them to go on vacation leave. Employees are going for five months without receiving their wages and your office is practically doing nothing,” ZISEGU. wroteThe union threatened to have the business certificates revoked.

“We will approach ISO offices and compel it to withdraw its certificate from you as you are culprits of unfair labour practices. We will proceed to approach all your clients and get information on how your offices are paid for services rendered,” ZISEGU added.
