TWENTY-FOUR schools are expected to converge at Baines Junior School in Bulawayo for the Dumisani Mankunzini Cricket Initiative (DMCI) Tournament which will be held from tomorrow to Sunday.

DMCI manager Ndaba Moyo said they were expecting two academies from South Africa and Botswana to add foreign flavour to the event.

Some of the schools that are expected to participate are Fairbridge, Mgiqika, Mpumelelo, Greenfield, Milton Junior, Gampu, Helemu and Josiah Tongogara Primary.

A draw was conducted yesterday at Baines with the hosts (Baines) being pooled Group A with Future Stars, Fairbridge, Insukamini, Brady Barracks and Greenfield.

In Group B Mchingwe who are the defending champions will play against Imbizo, Mgiqika, Hugh Beadle, Mpumelelo and Henry Low while in group C Alberton, Gampu, Helemu, Newmansford and Induba. Cubs, Milton, Josiah Tongogara, Nketa Primary and Godlwayo are in Group D.

However, two schools were by yesterday still to be confirmed and drawn into Group C and D respectively.

Moyo said an exhibition match will also be played between Tuskers players and Celeb 11 team while they will also select a team from the primary schools that will play against Alberton on Sunday.
