GABY’S Restaurant will tonight host the Epic All 70s-80s dress-up party organised by Newtown Youthful Entertainment. The main purpose of the party is to promote a clothing line dubbed Newtown.

The clothing line was created by John Silimoyo, popularly known on the turntables as DJ Jonstar, and tonight’s show and a forthcoming countrywide jaunt is meant to showcase a variety of designs created to introduce new clothing for the season.

“I am touring with five DJs and two artists trying to reach out to other towns so as to offer a variety of designs such as caps, shirts and crop tops since it’s now summer time,” Silimoyo said.

“We will be touring Mutare, Kwekwe, Bindura, Masvingo and Chinhoyi although we haven’t partnered with other companies. Hopefully we are going to partner with a few companies to promote this tour.”

He said the tour was expected to extend to places like Mutare in August, with a regional artist whose name is yet to be unveiled, before heading for Masvingo at the end of September.

The 70s-80s party is the second one to be hosted at Gaby’s Restaurant. The first one is said to have attracted close to 300 people.

Everything is expected to be old school at the party even the music, according to Silimoyo.

“In this 70s-80s party we have engaged old-school DJs, the likes of Dee Nice, the Body Slam family and the upcoming DJ Selecta base,” he said.
