Farai Mukwiri of Goto in Hwedza pleaded guilty to the charges and begged for leniency before seven months were set aside on condition that he restitutes the villagers’ money.

He will, however, spend the other month performing community service at a government institution in Hwedza.

According to court papers, from July 17, 2013 to April 10 this year, the accused was employed as a dip tank attendant stationed at Goto veterinary offices whose duty was stock cards salesmanship.

The accused while conducting his official duties, would receive cash from villagers to have their livestock dipped. But he would issue fake receipts and pocketed the proceeds, in the process prejudicing his employer of $366. Emmanuel Dera prosecuted.
