Addressing a Press conference on Thursday evening, Old Mutual Zimbabwe group marketing executive Lilian Mubayiwa said the integrated financial services group was interested in encouraging and promoting health and wellness in and among communities.

“The objective of hosting the Chitungwiza Fun Run is to further show Old Mutual’s commitment to Zimbabwe, the town of Chitungwiza and athletics in Zimbabwe. We believe we have the responsibility to be the most supportive of the communities we serve and this is, but a small token of our appreciation,” she said.

“As usual, we have tried to cater for everyone as we have many race categories. In addition to the main race, the 10km open race, we will have a 5km race. The race categories are wheelchair, veterans, masters and mistresses, grandmasters and grand mistresses and secondary school children.”

Registration for the event closes at 4pm today at Chitungwiza Shopping Centre.

Old Mutual also sponsors the Nkulumane Fun Run that took place in Bulawayo in June and Westgate Half Marathon that will take place on September 20.
