The album comes soon after Chipanga registered his church – The Messiah Apostolic Prophetically Inspired Institution (Mapipi) — last month.

The album has videos of Mabasa, a popular song that made waves after its release in the early 1990s, Satan Akafa and Adam naEva.

Produced by Big Jokar Records in Mutare, the album also has live versions of the hit songs Kwachu Kwachu, Mateo 5 Verse 13 and the last song Mateo 5, which is a tribute to Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe president Johannes Ndanga whom Chipanga described as a “Messiah” for all affiliates of the various apostolic sects.

Chipanga, who is undoubtedly one of the most gifted composers in the country, told NewsDay yesterday the album release was a milestone in his music career.

“I am happy to have released this DVD album.

“The release of this album is a milestone, which will help my fans understand my music much better,” he said.

The singer, popular for his trademark Secretary Bird Dance, said his name had been associated with a lot of controversy.

“But, this time, I hope the DVD will definitely wipe away all the debate,” he said.

“Some people think my music is political, but it is not. I believe that lack of videos to accompany my work was one of the reasons why I was viewed as such, but that is now a thing of the past,” added the Shinda Isina Tsono hitmaker.

He said he will be working on another DVD album called Chiedza, which he intends to release next year.

“I can promise you that it will be even better than Mabasa. My DVDs can be bought from my home as well as at Big Jokar Studios in Dangamvura,” he said.
