Zimbabwe Independent Editor Dumisani Muleya said the awards were for the country’s top performing counters listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange.

“The survey looks at growth, activity, market share, efficiency and profitability of the listed corporates,” he said.

“A panel of judges chaired by business and financial analyst Ranga Makwata were mandated with the adjudication process and identifying the winners of the prestigious awards.”

Makwata is associated with Zimbabwe Financial News, an online publication that focuses on business news.

The awards are in their 17th edition, having been introduced in 1998, two years after Zimbabwe Independent hit the streets. The keynote speaker at this year’s award ceremony is renowned business executive Eve Gadzikwa.

Alpha Media Holdings Acting Publisher and Group Editor-in-Chief Vincent Kahiya will address guests at the awards cocktail to be hosted by the media group in partnership with Dube-Banda and Nzarayapenga Attorneys.

A magazine with the results of the survey will be published in tomorrow’s issue of the Zimbabwe Independent.
