They even wonder why one lion could provoke debate globally when poaching has reached even high levels threatening to decimate other key species such as the African elephant, the endangered black and white rhinos, leopard and African painted dogs among others.

Their lack of knowledge over the iconic lion which drew visitors from across the globe pointed to the need for Zimbabwe to promote and improve domestic tourism.
