Club officials and coaches told this publication that they were unaware of the player’s whereabouts.

Trouble started early this year after he was stripped of his captain’s arm band by the then side’s caretaker coach Joseph Takaringofa.

The captain’s armband was handed to Young Warriors defender Liberty Chakoroma in a move that did not go well with the veteran striker.

Muzokomba was last seen by the club officials and coaches three weeks ago after their 1-0 defeat against How Mine in Bulawayo.

Buffaloes assistant coach Takaringofa who is currently standing in for head coach Saul Chaminuka confirmed the developments.

“We last heard of Muzokomba I think it’s now almost over two weeks. We last saw him in our match against How Mine where we lost 1-0. We have been trying to contact him but all the effort has been in vain,” he said.

“I can’t comment further on that, but we are just hoping that he is going to come this week at training.”

A club official who refused to be named confirmed the sad development before adding: “We don’t know where he is but has been communicating with some of the players in the team but not to us. If he returns he will face a disciplinary hearing,” he said. Muzokomba was not reachable yesterday.

Other sources told this publication that the gunslinger was not happy with the financial challenges the club was facing and might be on his way out to join fellow Premiership side How Mine.

How Mine head coach Luke Masomere, a former Buffaloes coach is a great admirer of Muzokomba.
