The 19-year-old was thrust into the club’s Under-21 friendly match against town rivals AIK last week on Tuesday and caught the eye of the coach after scoring twice in the team’s 7-0 victory.

Although he lasted for 70 minutes in that match, he had already done enough to convince the European club which is also home to fellow Zimbabwean Nyasha Mushekwi to take him on board.

Mushekwi is the league’s second top goalscorer with 11 goals in 16 matches.

Kadewere flew to France on Sunday night for another two-week trial stint with Sochaux. Contacted for comment on the outcome of his trials, yesterday, the Harare City star referred questions to his manager Gibson Mahachi.

“Tino did very well. He impressed and the club wants to sign him. But he is now in France on trials with Sochaux. He is also doing very well in France. So we want to see what comes out in France then we can weigh up the two,” Mahachi said.

Speaking before he left for France, Kadewere said he was satisfied with his performance at Djurgarden.

“It felt good. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had been looking forward to it from the first time I heard that I would play. I am glad that I had a good show. I look forward to many great shows here,” Kadewere was quoted by the club’s website as saying.

“I think I did it well, but this is not me. I can do it much better. I agree that I have to adapt to the weather. I’m not used to it. I scored two goals and I’m proud of myself, but I could have done more. I enjoy, it’s good. The people here are kind and nice. I’m very happy.”

Kadewere who is also a member of the Zimbabwe Under-23 team missed the 1-1 draw first leg of the African Championship qualifier against South Africa last week and will again miss the decisive qualifier in South Africa this weekend as he will be in France for another two week trial stint.

Should he sign for Djurgarden, he will be the third player in Sweden after Mushekwi and Archford Gutu who is at another top-flight club Kalmar FF, but currently away on loan at second tier club Varnamo.
